Before our school launched the African foreign aid project, I found that they are more likely to feel cold than us. In rainy days, when we were still shorts and T-shirts, some of them had already put on cotton trousers, leather jackets, etc. Which makes me  interested in traditional African clothing.

The dress of women is relatively simple. Most of them wear skirts. Headscarves and skirts that are as long as the insteps are often made of the same fabric. This may be the so-called "clothing". Like to use brightly colored, bright fabrics with eye-catching patterns. Men are relatively simple.

Characteristics Of Traditional African Clothing

1 No stand-up collar (all monk collars).

2 Plain clothes are generally embroidered, and Yanbian (hem, cuffs, collar) is embroidered with African-style patterns and decorative lines.

3 Front open, or upper half open (usually embroidered on the front of the chest).

4 Straight, not slim cut.

5 There are long tops, short tops at the ankles, mid-length tops at the waist, and hips and trousers. Ancient trousers do not use belts, but only use square buckles.

6 The more commonly used printed fabrics do not have the above embroidered decorations, and the styles are the same.

7 Other styles: tribal soldiers (sleeveless, waist), women's dresses, etc.

African Men Clothing

Men basically wear long trousers, and only some teenagers wear shorts. One type is for people who often work and do things, wear trousers and T-shirts, shirts or others, and the other type is for trousers and shirts.

African Women Traditional Dress

1. African clothing has always been quite distinctive. Most of these clothing designs are colorful, with strong contrast of patterns and colors, and generally have a strong sense of design and a habit of symmetry. The clothing styles are mostly long and wide, relatively wide, and the collars are mainly collarless or short.

2. The clothing of African women is much more complicated. "Everyone has the love of beauty", and African women are no exception.

3. African women don't wear trousers, and usually only wear African-style dresses. The poor are just a piece of cloth. This kind of dress generally has bare shoulders, and the main colors of the fabric are bright red, emerald green, indigo, and purple, while middle-aged women are mostly white and black.

4. African women like dresses with bright colors, rough patterns and bold lines, which are generous and elegant, but also eye-catching. In some places, the body wraps from the chest, waist to toes.

Beautiful traditional African clothing are attracting much more people who love Africa.
